The region of Aragon in Northern Spain is situated to the west of Catalonia. It is bound to the north and south by two of Spain's great mountain ranges - the Pyrenees and the Sistema Iberico - and is a vast land incorporating everything from high mountain peaks to desolate plains, rivers and historic cities. Aragon offers a whole gamut of Spanish property to potential buyers. Isolated plots on which that dream villa in Spain could be built are just as readily available as flats or townhouses in the middle of a bustling city, or ski chalets near one of Spain's top skiing resorts.
Zaragoza (Saragossa) is the main city in the region. Built on the river Ebro it is a very historical place, with Baroque Spanish architecture stretching back over many centuries. Zaragoza is also home to the region's main international airport, with connections to most of Europe's premier airports.
Huesca, Aragon's northernmost province, is home to several ski resorts and many spectacular valleys. It is also where most Spanish property investors concentrate their resources, as the Pyrenees hold an attraction with tourists through both the summer and winter months. Top locations in which to invest in Aragon property in the Pyrenees include Tena Valley, Aragon Valley and Pineta Valley.
Aragon property is available across a huge price range. Rural property for renovation can be purchased for less than €50,000 euros, while property around the ski resorts can easily cost €1,000,000 euros or more.
