The Catalan city of Barcelona is Spain's cultural hub and a prized location in which to
own Spanish property. Known internationally for its art, history and forty or so
museums, Barcelona stands proud between the mountains and the Mediterranean Sea
on the southern cusp of the Costa Brava.
Its climate is warm for much of the year, typically reaching 30°c during the summer
months, and falling to a temperature no lower than 8°c - 10°c during the winter
months. Sunshine is also plentiful, tempting tourists and locals out on to the six
beautiful sandy beaches that flank the city. Nova Icari beach is perhaps the pick of the
bunch, located next to the Olympic Village - a proud monument to the city's status as
hosts of the 1992 Olympic Games.
Prestige Spanish property, holiday homes, villas and apartments are all available in
Barcelona and its surrounding regions. Some of the hottest places for Barcelona
property investment to the north of the city include the areas of Cabrera de Mar,
Cabrilis, Alella and San Andreu de Llavaneres. Towards the south of the city, Garraf,
Gava and Castelldefels are popular areas in which to find prestige Barcelona property.
If you are looking for a villa in Spain that is within commuting distance of Barcelona,
then the coastal towns of Sitges in the south and Villasar de Mar to the north are
worth looking at too.
