The Mediterranean town of Benicarlo is situated towards the north end of the Costa del Azahar in Eastern Spain, just off the main N340 route between Barcelona and Valencia. Home to some 20,000 people the town is becoming an increasingly popular tourist resort as well as an important investment location for Spanish property.
The town is a typical mix of historical buildings and modern facilities. Within its boundary there is a 16th century convent and hermitage, the former having undergone restoration work in 1999. In the old quarter of Benicarlo, visitors will find Renaissance-style Benicarlo property, along with buildings that hark back to a colonial era.
Benicarlo's main attraction though is its golden sands and wonderful climate. The town boasts three sandy beaches, all of which offer many services from bars and restaurants to water sports facilities. Morrongo Beach, which is the smaller of the three, has been awarded the EU Blue Flag and is backed by a modern promenade.
Spanish property in Benicarlo consists of new builds and re-sales within the town and on new Benicarlo property developments between Benicarlo and Peniscola. A 4-bed detached villa in Spain within an urban area of Benicarlo one row from the sea will cost around €500,000 euros.
