Standing on the southern Costa de la Luz the city of Cadiz is reputed to be the oldest
city in the Western World. Its name is used to define the southerly most region of
Spain, from Sanlucar de Barrameda in the west to the luxury Spanish property
development at Sotogrande in the east, as well as the connecting Spanish mainland
with Gibraltar.
The Cadiz coastline is a fusion of coves, sandy beaches and cliffs that plunge
dramatically into the Strait of Gibraltar where the Atlantic Ocean meets the
Mediterranean Sea. The area's natural beauty attracts visitors from all over Spain, as
well as many foreigners, some of whom travel across from the nearby Costa del Sol.
All who visit the region are guaranteed a warm welcome and a taste of traditional
Spain. The people of Cadiz are famous for their good hospitality, and the area is
known for its wonderful local produce and its wine - Manzanilla Sherry being one of
its top exports.
For property hunters Cadiz offers a great variety of Spanish property. Apartments,
villas and townhouses are available at reasonable prices in the city of Cadiz itself, as
well as around the beautiful coastline. Further inland, Cadiz property developments in
Jerez and Chiclana are popular with investors. On the Costa del Sol side of the Cadiz
region is the luxury Cadiz property development of Sotogrande. Located next to the
Valderrama Golf Course, Sotogrande offers premier properties and is a perfect
location in which to buy that villa in Spain.
