Located on the central Costa Dorada coastline between Tarragona and Vilanova i la Geltru is the resort of Calafell. Increasingly popular with tourists from Northern Europe, Calafell remains a laid-back and tranquil resort in which to relax by the Mediterranean Sea. Calafell essentially comprises of three areas. The original town, which is built around the medieval castle, is a typical Mediterranean town with Romanesque and Gothic structures. This is where most of the locals live and the town yields some beautiful old Calafell property in places, some of which could do with a bit of TLC. The areas of Segura and Calafell Beach make up the remaining parts of the resort, and is where the main tourist residential zones can be found.
Calafell's main attraction is its wonderful sandy beaches and glorious weather. The region experiences more than 300 days of sunshine each year, tempting tourists and locals out on to the 5kms of golden sand. During the summer months, the beaches can become busy, but are generally quiet for the remainder of the year.
Calafell property available to purchase is found chiefly in the residential zones of Segura and next to Calafell Beach. Spanish property here consists of well-designed villas, townhouses and apartments on several property developments found in-between the hotels.
