Arrived at by a winding stretch of roadway from the main A377 highway between Manilva and Gaucin on the Malaga-Cadiz border in Southern Spain is the breathtaking village of Casares. Not just another whitewashed Andalucian village, Casares is something really special that makes many a passer-by stop and gaze in awe at the incredible sight before them.
So, why is Casares such a special place, and such a sought-after location in which to own Spanish property? It may be the fact that the gleaming white buildings perched high up on a rocky hill shine like a beacon from afar. It may be that from the roadway the village seems to deny the simple laws of gravity as the buildings rise up the hillside to impossibly high positions. Then again, it may be that when you look out from the Arabic castle at the village's highest point the view simply takes your breath away! The reason is different for everyone, but there is no denying that Casares is the most spectacular Andalucian village in Southern Spain...bar none!
Casares property in the village crowds around several narrow and very steep streets that wind upwards to the castle. From the air, Casares property can be seen to be tiered on three levels up the hillside, so granting each and every property a truly wonderful view. Spanish property available to purchase in the village consists mainly of townhouses and villas. Opportunities to buy in Casares though are quite limited, and given the village's unique position, plots of land on which to build a villa in Spain on the same hill as Casares are also very hard to come by. Alternative property purchasing opportunities can be found further along the main road towards Manilva.
