Situated in the hills to the north of Marbella on the Costa del Sol is the small Andalucian town of Guaro. Relatively undiscovered by tourism, Guaro offers a taste of traditional Spain and is a quiet location in which to buy Spanish property on the Costa del Sol.
Guaro is a classical Andalucian town, whose architecture has remained the same for centuries. The village is a mass of gleaming whitewashed buildings that crowd around narrow winding streets. Many of the streets are steep, ascending upwards towards the church that sits proudly at the highest point in the town. Most parts of Guaro offer exceptional views of the surrounding countryside, and take in some of the small hamlets and towns in the neighbouring area.
Guaro is only a few minutes away from the town of Coin in Malaga province, and is less than a half hour's drive from the bright lights of Marbella, and its wonderful sandy beaches. In the village itself are a handful of restaurants and tapas bars, as well as a few shops, a post office and a real estate agent. Other than the church and the whitewashed appearance of Guaro property there is very little else to attract the attention of tourists to this quaint location.
Guaro property mainly consists of townhouses and apartments. They are often in immaculate condition with classic red-framed windows, wrought iron balconies overhanging the street below and exquisite tiling along the lower quarter of the property exterior. Spanish property for sale in the village also includes some exciting renovation projects, while the village provides buyers with a limited opportunity to own a dream villa in Spain.
