Situated in Northeast Spain the province of Huesca is a land of contrasts. At its northern extent there are the snow-covered mountain peaks of the Pyrenees - the highest peaks of the range reside in Huesca. At its southern extent are lush green rolling hills through which gentle rivers meander in days of endless sunshine. The capital city of the province is Huesca City, which lies at the boundary point between the plains of Aragon and the foothills of the Pyrenees. Huesca is essentially an industrial city and is known as one of Spain's administrative hubs. It has a population of some 50,000 people and is a place of work for many others who commute in to the city from surrounding towns and villages. Aside from its economic importance, Huesca City is also of historic and cultural significance. It has many fine examples of Romanesque and Baroque architecture, and is intrinsically linked through legend to The Holy Grail.
Outside the city, the province of Huesca has an important role to play in adventure tourism. The Huescan Pyrenees is home to several popular ski resorts, including the well-known resort at Canfranc. Investors in Huesca property have an excellent opportunity here to acquire chalets and other suitable Spanish property, such as a villa in Spain, to let out to skiers. With snow in the ski resorts lying on the ground for at least six months of the year, a Huesca property investment in the Pyrenees could yield substantial income through the rental market.
