Ibiza Property : Villas, Fincas & Apartments

Dubbed 'the party capital of the world', the Balearic island of Ibiza is a little slice of Spanish heaven in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea. Glorious weather, stunning sunsets over some of the cleanest beaches in Europe, beautiful countryside and an almost ethereal party atmosphere come together to make it a magical place by day and night. The island truly has something to offer everyone. Spanish property, culture, history, sun, clubs and chill-out zones are in abundance from coast to coast. It's a place that once you're there you never want to leave!

Ibiza is a small island with a big reputation to uphold. It takes less than an hour to drive from one side of Ibiza to the other, so nothing is very far away. The majority of the tourist-oriented areas and clubs are to be found around the coastal fringes of the island. Further inland, towns and villages take on a more traditional feel. Santa Gertrudis, in the centre of the island, retains its agricultural roots and is a quieter alternative to tourist hotspots such as San Antonio. Dotted amongst the towns and villages wherever you go on Ibiza is a diverse array of shops, restaurants and bars, as well as all the modern facilities you'd expect on an island belonging to a modern country.

One of the most enduring images of Ibiza is the capital city's silhouette, with its buildings and cathedral atop a rocky promontory jutting out into the sea, against the backdrop of a deep azure sky. The capital city, called Ibiza or Ibiza Town, is the largest settlement on Ibiza, although by mainland Europe standards it is very small. In 2002, Ibiza Town's population was registered as being less than 37,500.

Shops, restaurants and bars line the narrow streets of Ibiza Town, twisting their way up the hill and around the summit. Sa Penya - the old fishing quarter located midway between Ibiza Town's harbour and the centre - is another small delight, and only adds to the intoxicating atmosphere on this wonderful island.

Located a short distance northwest of Ibiza Town is the island's second largest settlement - San Antonio. Made famous by the Café del Mar, where you can watch the sun go down to an eclectic mix of background music, San Antonio is now home to some of the best clubs and DJs in the world. During the summer, British tourists alone outnumber the locals in their thousands.

Each year, many visitors to Ibiza decide to buy property on the island. Ibiza property is stylish and modern - a befitting compliment to the island's status and magical ambience. New developments are carefully planned, so ensuring that building designs remain in harmony with their surroundings, attracting buyers rather than repelling them. Types of Ibiza property on offer typically range from single studio flats for less than 100,000 euros to luxury villas for between 1,000,000 - 2,000,000 euros. If you're looking for a villa in Spain with a difference, then buying Spanish property in Ibiza could be your dream ticket!
