The municipality of Manilva is located on the Western Costa Del Sol in the province of Malaga. Devoid of skyscrapers the area is becoming increasingly popular with tourists and Spanish property hunters alike, whether they are looking to move to Spain permanently or to buy a holiday home.
The municipality comprises of five unique locations - Sabinillas, El Castillo, Punta Chullera, El Puerto de la Duquesa and the whitewashed town of Manilva itself. Sabinillas is essentially a fishing village located on the coast, and is peppered with pavement cafes, bars, as well as restaurants in which local fish dishes can be sampled. Further down the coast is the quiet residential area of El Puerto de la Duquesa. Its focus is its wonderful marina and 18-hole golf course. El Castillo (Castillo de la Duquesa) is another small fishing village slightly further on down the coast, while Punta Chullera is partly on the coast and partly inland.
All areas have a selection of Spanish property for the discerning buyer. Most are on Manilva property developments, where purchasers can find apartments, villas and self-contained suites in 4/5 star hotels. Within the town of Manilva itself, opportunities to buy property are fewer. Here, Manilva property consists mainly of whitewashed townhouses and villas. A newly built villa in Spain using one of the local constructors is likely to cost in the region of €450,000 euros.
