The province of Murcia in southeast Spain is a diverse amalgam of landscapes, taking
in mountains, reservoirs, plains and a dramatic coastline. The region's capital - the
city of Murcia - located on the banks of the Segura River, is described as one of the
most breathtaking and historic cities in Spain. Murcia's many towns and villages too
offer a glimpse into Spain's turbulent past, as well as providing investors with a huge
choice of Spanish property for sale.
Murcia's coastline, which takes in the Costa Calida from Aguilas up to La Manga in
the southern Costa Blanca, is where many property hunters concentrate their search
for Murcia property. Puerto de Mazarron, the area around Cartagena and of course La
Manga are favoured coastal areas for property hunters. Further inland, Murcia city
and the up and coming town of Calasparra, located in a mountain valley, are popular
when looking for rural Murcia property.
Plots of land along with derelict fincas and other ruins are readily available
throughout the Murcia region. Ideal if you are looking to build your villa in Spain,
these lots are generally very cheap to purchase, especially in the more rural locations.
Just as when buying Spanish property in other regions of Spain, buyers should
allocate funds equivalent to 8% to 10% of the property's value to cover legal fees,
notary fees and taxes.
