Obejo is a small mountain village situated to the north of Cordoba in Southern Spain. It is home to less than 1,000 people, and remains quite undisturbed by tourism of any kind. The village offers a taste of traditional Andalucia to all who come here, and for this reason it is highly recommended as a rural location in which to buy Spanish property.
Life in Obejo revolves around agriculture. The village is surrounded by hills of olive groves and fruit trees belonging to local farms. Many of the residents in Obejo are farmers, or are employed by the farms or are otherwise connected with the olive oil and fruit industries in some way.
The town itself is of a typical Andalucian layout. Whitewashed homes with red-tiled roofs line steep narrow streets as they wind their way around the village. Architecture dating back to the 13th century can be found here too - the village church being the most notable example. Obejo also possesses many modern facilities. These include schools, a bank and several shops. There are a number of fine restaurants here as well, all offering excellent Spanish cuisine. A little way outside of the town is the Club de Campo de Cordoba golf course.
Opportunities to purchase Spanish property in Obejo are quite limited. Of those that do come up for sale, townhouses and villas make up the majority of Obejo property offerings. In nearby Cerro Muriano, Obejo property buyers will find a greater selection of property for sale, including plots of land on which a luxury villa in Spain can be constructed.
