Ojen is a beautiful white Andalucian village set upon a south-facing slope to the north of Marbella in Southern Spain. Easily visible from Marbella and its beaches, Ojen gleams like a beacon out from the dense pine forest that surrounds it. Spanish property in Ojen is much sought-after as the village affords wonderful views along the Costa del Sol and out to sea.
The climate in Ojen is nothing short of spectacular. The village receives over 300 days of sunshine each year, while summertime temperatures regularly climb to between 30°c - 35°c. During the winter, Ojen's proximity to the sea keeps it mild, while the mountains to its north protect it from the cold wind that filters down through Central Spain.
The village itself is a beautiful collection of whitewashed Spanish property crammed around ancient narrow streets. In some places the streets are no wider than a couple of metres and are steep as they wind around the buildings. Many properties here display ornate wrought-iron balconies, from which colourful plants and flowers emanate, sometimes trailing down building exteriors.
