The historic coastal town of Oliva is situated on the northernmost part of the Costa
Blanca in eastern Spain, near the provincial border of Valencia and Alicante. It offers
a taste of traditional Spain, with its whitewashed buildings arranged around narrow
cobbled streets, some dating back to the 16th century.
Popular with city-dwelling Spaniards, Oliva is an idyllic place in which to invest in
Spanish property. Many Spaniards from Madrid and other inland areas already own
Oliva property as second homes, visiting the town on their vacations. The climate is
ideal, the town receiving over 300 days of sunshine each year, and there is 10km of
sandy beaches along the Costa Blanca, all accessible by a 5-minute to 10-minute drive
from the town's centre.
Sport and leisure activities are plentiful in and around the Oliva area. Golfers are well
catered for by the Oliva Nova golf course, which is 6km south of the town, and there
are plenty of facilities for water sports, horse riding and walking. Oliva property
owners can also look forward to a plethora of street festivals, as well as dining out in
any of the traditional Spanish restaurants and bars around the town.
Nearby to Oliva is the ever-popular Gandia, where new Spanish property
developments are being built. To the south of Oliva is Denia - another coastal resort
that is popular amongst people looking to buy a villa in Spain.
