Palma Nova is a large resort town located 15kms south-west of Palma de Mallorca on the Balearic island of Mallorca. Together with its neighbour, Magaluf, the resort of Palma Nova offers tourists a 24-hour party atmosphere with its numerous clubs, discos and shows. It also provides investors in Spanish property with a unique opportunity to generate rental income for substantial parts of the year, thanks to the town's influx of 18 - 30 year old tourists who come to enjoy all that Palma Nova provides.
Almost inseparable from the sprawl of Magaluf, Palma Nova is a mass of hotels and apartment blocks that seem to dominate the skyline. Under their constant gaze is the sandy beach - a focus for many activities during the day, including glass-bottomed boat rides, paracending, doughnuting and a wide range of activities for kids. By dusk, Palma Nova comes alive. Restaurants, bars and clubs buzz with tourists, and there is a wide variety of entertainment on offer including discos, cabaret and adult-oriented shows, some of which go on until sunrise.
Apartments along the seafront are the most desirable type of Palma Nova property to own, although Palma Nova property without sea views deeper into town are often cheaper to purchase. There are also several new Spanish property developments in the process of construction in the area, all of which offer a good selection of apartments. If you are looking to build your own villa in Spain in tranquil surroundings, then you may find suitable building plots further inland from Palma Nova.
