On the Costa Dorada, some 15-minutes outside the coastal resort of Tarragona, is the small town of Reus. Known mainly for its small airport, to which Ryanair now fly direct, Reus is a convenient area in which to buy Spanish property. It offers easy access to the beautiful Costa Dorada coastline and its golden beaches, as well as being only minutes away from the Universal Mediterranea theme park located just outside Tarragona.
Reus is a city of two halves. The old half of the town provides an insight into the areas history. Reus's 16th Century Gothic church and octagonal belltower are amongst the architectural highlights, and there are many museums to take in too. In the more modern half of Reus is the town's vibrant commercial centre. Shops, offices and restaurants crowd the modern streets, providing all who come to the town with a whole range of essential services.
Reus is a prime location in which to invest in Spanish property. The airport at Reus is reporting a significant increase in numbers, as more and more people are flocking to the nearby resorts of Salou and Tarragona, as well as the Universal Studios theme park. With Ryanair, one of the biggest budget airlines operating in Europe, opening up a direct route to Reus, the town is likely to see Reus property prices soar over the coming months and years.
Property most in demand in the area are apartments, townhouses and villas on the newer Reus property developments on the outskirts of the town and towards Tarragona. Here, prices for a 4-bed terraced villa in Spain start at around €270,000 euros. The luxury villa development at Vilafortuny is also popular.
