Situated on a plateau in the midst of the Cordillera Penibetica mountain range in
Southern Spain, is one of the country's oldest and most spectacular towns - Ronda.
Known worldwide for its position above a plunging gorge, where its dramatic stone
bridge spans the Guadiaro River beneath, Ronda is a truly special place in which to
own Spanish property. It is regularly visited by tourists, and despite being several
hundred metres above sea level in mountainous surroundings the town is only 25
miles or so from the Costa del Sol coastline.
Ronda has a rich and vibrant past. Prehistoric settlers, the Roman occupation and the
conquests of the Catholic Monarchs have all left a mark on this wonderful town that is
today the centre of attention for tourists to the province of Malaga, as well as for
Spanish property developers.
Ronda is a characteristically quiet town. Many of the buildings are of a simple design,
and all gleam a brilliant white thanks to their whitewashed exteriors. Opportunities to
purchase Ronda property are quite extensive. There are villas, townhouses and
apartments available in and around the town, as well as plots of land on which your
own villa in Spain can be built. A typical 3-bedroomed Ronda property on the
outskirts of town is likely to cost you less than €200,000 euros.
