San Roque is an exquisite town sat atop a circular hill in the province of Cadiz, some 10kms from Gibraltar on the southern tip of Spain. At an elevation of over 100 metres above sea level San Roque offers dramatic views of the Rock of Gibraltar, as well as the coastline. North Africa can even be made out on a clear day from many a Spanish property in the town.
San Roque is primarily known for its golf. Situated next to the town are two 18-hole championship golf courses and the Seve Ballesteros golf academy. There is also an equestrian centre, swimming pool, 5-star hotel resort and a fine selection of quality restaurants. The world-famous Valderrama golf course - hosts of the 1997 Ryder Cup - is only 15-minutes away, as are the beaches at Sotogrande.
