Sant Feliu de Guixols is a charming Mediterranean town situated on the central coastal section of the Costa Brava in Northeast Spain. Originally developed as a port facility for the nearby ancient city of Girona, Sant Feliu de Guixols is now an increasingly popular tourist resort and much sought-after location in which to buy Spanish property.
Sant Feliu's main attraction is its wonderful coastline. The town boasts two beautiful sandy beaches - Playa de Sant Feliu and Playa Sant Pol - both of which are backed by tree-lined promenades and a smattering of snack bars and restaurants. Further to the north and south the coastline becomes wild and untamed, with rocky headlands and cliffs jutting out into the Mediterranean Sea, flanked by secluded sandy coves.
The town of Sant Feliu itself is a delicate balance between new and old. The historical heart of the town is extremely well preserved, yielding some fine examples of Romanesque and Baroque architecture among its winding streets. Along the shoreline are more modern buildings, including hotels and apartments offering exquisite views across the sea and down the coastline.
Demand for Sant Feliu de Guixols property is high. Apartments, houses and villas overlooking the beach are the types of Sant Feliu de Guixols property most sought-after, and are therefore some of the most expensive properties in the town. Towards the centre of the urban area Spanish property is slightly cheaper, but has less potential in the rental market.
Currently, some of the best opportunities to buy a villa in Spain in Sant Feliu de Guixiols can be found on the new property developments just outside the town. Here, buyers will find new luxury villas and apartments with unobstructed views of the sea.
