Santa Pola is an idyllic tourist resort located on the Cap de Santa Pola in the Costa Blanca, Eastern Spain. Untouched by mass tourism, the town is widely regarded as a Mediterranean paradise by all who visit it, and so is an excellent choice of location when considering the purchase of Spanish property.
The 4kms of beautiful beachfront along Santa Pola's shoreline is one of the biggest draws of this resort. All in all there are eight beaches belonging to Santa Pola, most of them offering a good choice of tourist facilities, including bars and restaurants. Even during the height of summer there is plenty of opportunity to find a quiet spot on the sand, such is the vast expanse of beachfront that lies around the area. Santa Pola's shoreline is also great for kids. From Playa Lisa Beach you can wade out in to the sea for almost a mile and still only be knee-high in seawater!
The main beach sections bordering the town are backed by a wide tree-lined promenade. Behind the promenade is the town itself - a delightful mix of ancient architecture and modern facilities. The main attractions in the town are the 16th century castle, three wonderful towers and a first-rate aquarium.
Santa Pola is a fishing town at heart, and still has an active fishing fleet bringing in a daily catch. Much of the fish is sold to restaurants in the town and is also available from stalls in the daily market.
For investors, Santa Pola property most in demand are apartments and villas along the seafront or further inland where such property has a sea view. Further around the cape there are new Spanish property developments offering luxury Santa Pola property for the discerning buyer. If you're looking for a quality villa in Spain by the sea, Santa Pola should really be at the top of your shortlist.
