The Tropical Coast (Costa Tropical) is Spain's smallest Costa. It runs between Motril in the west of the region near the Costa del Sol to Adra in the east of the region at the border with the Costa de Almeria. Relatively unknown by the masses of tourists who visit Spain each year, the Costa Tropical is an ideal location in which to purchase Spanish property if you're looking for peace and tranquillity on the South Coast.
The Costa Tropical is the least developed of all the Costa's, mainly because the coastline is rather rugged. Mountains descend down to the sea in places, leaving a legacy of pebbly and sandy coves in-between. Nevertheless, there are some intriguing areas for visitors and prospective Spanish property buyers to explore along the Tropical Coast, the white village of Salobrena being one of the most spectacular.
Salobrena is a beautiful Mediterranean town of whitewashed buildings grouped around a rocky outcrop on a natural promontory in the Costa Tropical. The Tropical Coast property here runs down the hillside and spreads out along the shoreline where there is a beautiful sandy beach. The town has many fine restaurants, cafes and bars and there are no high-rise Tropical Coast property developments spoiling the view.
Inland on the Costa Tropical stretch of Southern Spain is the impressive town of Almunecar. Dramatic scenery in all directions from the village makes this a popular location in which to buy a villa in Spain on the Tropical Coast.
