Torrevieja is a coastal city on the Costa Blanca, situated towards the south of the
Alicante province. It is a modern-looking city with an ancient past and is a great place
in which to buy inexpensive Spanish property.
Located as it is on the Costa Blanca, the weather, as you might very well expect, is
warm and sunny most of the year round. Temperatures in the region regularly climb
to above 35°c during the summer months, while during the winter the daytime
temperature can easily reach 18°c - 20°c.
Torrevieja itself receives well over 300 days of sunshine every year, tempting people
out onto the fabulous beaches that line the coast. There are six main beaches along the
city front, as well as countless coves and dramatic cliffs that plunge into the sea. All
of the beaches are very clean and have fine white sands. El Cura beach and Los Locos
beach are two of the most popular amongst locals and visitors. The saltwater lagoons
which flank the city, as well as the La Mata national park are important attractions in
the area too.
Torrevieja property is widely regarded as good value when compared to similar priced
property in other areas along the Costa Blanca and nearby Costa Calida. If purchased
in Torrevieja, your dream villa in Spain may cost as little as €150,000 euros.
As when buying Spanish property in other regions of the country, buyers should
budget an additional 8% - 10% of their Torrevieja property price to account for legal
fees, notary fees and tax.
