The region of Valencia on the Costa del Azahar in Eastern Spain is becoming
increasingly popular with tourists and investors in Spanish property. Widely regarded
as the next investment 'hotspot' in Spain, Valencia has something to offer everyone,
from green and fertile landscapes to sandy beaches, Spanish culture and history.
Valencia property prices are very competitive, especially when compared to property
prices in the neighbouring Costas. The resort location of Gandia in the south of the
region is currently the biggest draw for investors in Spanish property. Here, five-
bedroomed properties are available for less than €200,000 euros. Other popular
locations in which to buy Valencia property include Marina d'Or near Olivia on the
coast and Alzira, located on the banks of the Jucar River that flows into the
Mediterranean near Cullera.
Valencia's new-found 'hotspot' status is largely due to an uplift in the region's image.
Good air links to the rest of Spain and Europe are now in place through Valencia's
international airport. Additionally, there is a good transport infrastructure now in
place at a local level, as well as a growth in restaurants, bars and leisure / sport
facilities.
From Sagunto in the north of the region to Olivia in the south, Valencia's coastline is
truly remarkable. It basically consists of one enormous stretch of beach, which is
interrupted only at Cullera where headlands truncate the sands. With such a sandy
expanse, the beach sections away from the main resorts are generally quiet, even
during the height of summer.
The city of Valencia, Spain's third largest city behind Madrid and Barcelona, is a
delightful amalgam of ancient and modern architecture. Being Spain's most densely
populated city, it is often crowded, especially during the summer months. There are
many historic sites to take in, including the site of the Roman Forum, and the Basilica
de la Virgen - a temple dedicated to Valencia's patroness.
Valencia enjoys a typically Mediterranean climate of long hot summers and short
mild winters. The temperature regularly reaches 30°c during the summer months, and
rarely falls below 12°c during the winter. When the wind blows in from the African
continent daytime winter temperatures can reach 20°c or more.
Valencia is an ideal location in which to buy a villa in Spain. For people in search of a
good investment opportunity, resort locations like Olivia and Gandia should be high
up on their list. If you are looking for a peaceful retreat in tranquil surroundings then
you may find your perfect home in places such as Alzira and Barx, to name but a few
locations.
